1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?
I expected to learn the basic origins of art and what not throughout this course. However, this course has exceeded my expectations and actually made learning about Art very fun. I learned many different forms of art and seen examples from many different artists, and eventually created my own media!
2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting?
Art can be any creation created by someone. It will differ from person to person based on their views. For example, I can look at a piece of art from before this course and look at it now in a completely different mindset.
3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is
your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you
think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?
I didn't have a favorite artist at the beginning of the course and can't really say I have one now, however I really enjoyed all artwork that comes from Ben Perrone, who I learned about during my art gallery visit. I really enjoyed researching about him on my own time to find his different creations and learning the meaning behind them.
4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about
taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first
posting? How is it the same or different?
I love the online courses just as I expected to continue to. I will also take online classes when I am able to because I can complete work at my pace to meet my deadlines.

Art Gallery Vist 3 and Self Portrait/ Reflection

1. Why did you select the inspiration pieces?
While browsing through online sources and galleries, these three stuck out to me. To me a lot of self portraits all have the same idea and principal behind them however these three are slightly more unique and tell a little more about the person in my opinion.
I used a digital approach seeing as I have never done anything like that! I found a program online and played around with it a bit until I got the hang of it.
It was difficult for me to find a way to add detail. I sketched on a side piece of paper to come up with ideas and did the best I could.

4. How does this piece represent you?
Well, Simply enough it is a direct representation of what I look like. I tried the best I could to give an overall feel to the viewer of how I feel I give off to others.
5. What elements and principles of art did you apply in this work?
I used different forms of line for the most part. With using a computer texture was also easily applied and manipulated. Also the color background was used to give off an overall feel to the viewer and I chose the shirt color to contrast with the background.
6. Did you enjoy working on this project?
I found this to be slightly more difficult with the rest. I did enjoy it to a point, however would of liked to do something different.
7. What do you think of your final artwork?
I feel as although I still need some advancement in creating art. However, with what I have learned since the beginning of the semester I was able to use all that in creating perhaps a more valued art creation in this aspect and helped me understand ways to improve. Just need more practice!

Project 5 Reflection
Answer the Following Questions:
1. Which projects did you review? 2. Why did you select the Exhibit you critiqued?
I reviewed nearly all of my classmates projects. I had chosen one I thought would fit my interests most as I feel like I could relate to it more.
3. What challenges did you face in writing the critique article and how did you overcome them?
I really didn't feel like I faced any kind of problems or challenges when creating my critique article. If anything, I perhaps maybe should have contacted the student to fully understand their goals of their exhibit so I was able to understand their approach more clearly.
4. How do you feel about critiquing your peers work?
At first I thought it would be challenging for me, but I looked at their work as something I would have found on their Internet and not something someone my age had created and I felt nothing wrong about that approach.
5. Would you like to read the critique your peers wrote about your Art Curation Project?
Absolutely, I would love to have any kind of feedback on my Art Curation Project as I have never created something like that before and would like feedback not only from a Professor, but also a fellow student.
6. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your finished article and why?
I feel as if I had to rate my finished article I would rate it a 9. Simply because I did not do a rough draft so maybe it would not be perfect, however I did revise it a couple times and I always know I can better myself, however I felt that I met the requirements.
7. Did you enjoy working on this project?
I'll be honest, I'll never admit to enjoying a project, however I didn't wait till the last minute on any part of it since I got a head start I was never really rushed and had plenty of time to review everything before the deadlines.

Week 15 Video Review
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
Greenberg on Art Criticism: This video explains Clement Greenberg's reflections of his career and some art criticism by him as well. He also explains to the interviewer the relationship between modern art and the history of art. One of the most interesting things I learned was Greenberg's view on aesthetics and how artists are full of emotion and feeling while creating such work in order to portray the message they want in their artwork.
Italian Renaissance: This video explains an introduction to the Italian Renaissance with different examples of artwork from different artists. It shows the huge influence that Roman art had on this time period as well. An interesting thing that I had learned was that Donatello's sculpture of "David" is that even though the sculpture shows the balance on one legs the nudity sets aside the fact that it appears balanced.

These videos helped give me more insight on different ideas of art criticism and gave me examples how people in the past have critiqued art while providing me examples of such.

Project 4 Reflection
I really thought I would have a tougher time completing the assignment but after finding a couple of art works and deciding which ones to use that became the more difficult part! I really enjoyed being able to come up with any topic I wanted and I feel like I am very proud of the work I have completed. I learned quite a bit of information about past wars and the impacts it had on different people around the world.
