Module 3

1. Describe Color and it's effects on emotions. Use the appropriate vocabulary of color in your posting.

Color stands out as one of the most pleasurable elements when looking at something. Studies have shown that color affects a wide variety of psychologocial and physiological responses. For example, a stop sign is painted red. Many people associate red with danger/stop/negative. Then if you paint a stop sign green, how would that affect many people?

Looking in more of a emotions point of view, red and pink are often colors associated with love/valentines day. Now go ahead and change the colors to that of black and blue... The emotional difference varies greatly.

2. What is a theoretical aspect of color that most intrigues/fascinates you? Why?

Through the website provided, I was very fascinated with value. When you adjsut the intensity of the activity provided it alters your eyes to see dots that aren't even there. Very interesting to me on how that works and I wonder how much that affects my daily life and I don't even realize it.

3. In the Color video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?

It really amazed me the kind of effects something as simple as the color of something can even overall change its meaning and how we view it. For example June Redfern really wanted her painting to capture the feel of Venice but you could tell it's not what she wanted. The fact the I looked at the minor changes she made I was able to feel the color difference in my emotions.

4. In the Feelings video, what made the biggest impact on you in regards to color and it's effects on emotions?

I never really look at a darker area of things such as work of Francisco Goya and his "darker" works of art. This type of theme really gave off a weird but interesting vibe to me. The darker colors and the more depressing vibes given off from these works really impacted a negative vibe of darkeness.
