1. Explain why you selected the video you choose from the selection listed above.
I chose the required video for obvious reasons, and then I chose the Cairo Museum video simply because I really am interested in ancient Egypt. It was a huge topic I learned and researched back in elementary school and have always enjoyed learning about it since then.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
More Human Than Human: The video describes how we let what images that we see have such an impact on us, whether it is in daily life or images from years ago/ the way that we use art to express ourselves.
Cairo Museum: This video explains and goes in depth with some of the ancient artifacts from around the world. One of the most interesting facts I found was that some of the artifacts have been there for over 100 years and still have not been opened!
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text? and 4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
The video's explore on the book readings and provide specific examples on the key ideas that we have read. Being able to see hands on examples provides a much more clear understanding of the ideas, very helpful. The video's also look specifically and expand on Egyptian/Roman architecture which was covered in the readings. They expand briefly and portray different forms of architecture of the past.
